My trolling motor won’t turn on

Make sure there’s a good connection between your trolling motor wires and the battery.
- If your boat is equipped with the round, black plug, make sure you push the plug in and give it a ¼ turn
- If you’re hooking your trolling motor up directly to the battery with ring terminals, make sure you have the red wire on the positive terminal, and the black wire on the negative terminal. Also make sure the nuts on top of the terminal posts are tightened down.
Check the battery to make sure the wires are connected properly and securely.
Check your circuit breaker to make sure it’s not tripped.
Check the charge on the battery.
